Flooding & Beaching – Refloating Operation under ‘BIMCO WRECKFIXED 99’ dd 08.08.08
The M/Y "OLYMPIAS" flooded and emergently beached at Oinousses Island on July 7th. She was partly sunk (Fore draft 2m - Aft draft 3.5m) on sandy seabed, with 12o list to starboard at a depth of about 2m at bow. Both her rudders and 4-bladed propellers were heavily damaged and variously deformed, her V-brackets bent while all her keel breached/cracked, at least three locations.
POSEIDON was appointed by Messrs “ANGELAKOS (HELLAS) S.A.” under ‘’BIMCO WRECKFIXED 99’’ on "NO CURE NO PAY" basis for her patching, dewatering, stabilizing and refloating. The YACHT was successfully refloated on August 12th to be towed & safely redelivered at Perama on August 18th.
